Scratch Nights are back! Working on something new? A script, a song, a poem or maybe a spoken word piece?
Working on something new? A script, a song, a poem or something else entirely? Try it out in front of an audience at Stratford East Scratch Nights.
Our South Asian Scratch Night will be on Thu 09 Jul, 7-9pm
Applications are open now until Mon 08 Jun 2026 at 12 noon.
No need to book, simply arrive and enjoy the bar atmosphere and see some up and coming South Asian Artists experiment with new creative material.
HOW DO SCRATCH NIGHTS AT STRATFORD EAST WORK?
We have three slots available at each Scratch Night:
- Each slot lasts up to 15 - 20 minutes each
- Your work can be at any stage of its development
- Your work can be a script, a performance, a song, a poem, or a spoken word piece, etc.
- Each slot will receive £150 for performing
- Rehearsal space will be provided on the day
- Audience feedback will be collected and sent out to acts
- One slot will be specifically held for artists aged 18-25
WHAT DO SCRATCH NIGHTS AT STRATFORD EAST LOOK LIKE?
Our Scratch Nights are held in Stratford East's Bar. There is no stage or lighting rig but a small performance space with a PA system. It is a relaxed, welcoming and encouraging space so even if you don't apply - come down and check it out!
