Interested in the theatre and how it all began? How long it took to build? What remains of the original features? Want to experience what it feels like to stand on stage or ever wondered where the actors hang out between scenes?
As part of Stratford East's 140th year celebrations, we are delighted to announce free guided tours of our much-treasured theatre. Taking place once a month, the tour will take you on a journey behind the scenes so you can get a glimpse into how we create our outstanding shows. Led by our volunteer Community Ambassadors, we will share the history of the building, give an exclusive insight into the theatre’s background and rich heritage and even teach you some theatre terms. And you never know, you may get to rub shoulders with the theatre ghost if you're lucky...
We would love you to join us to explore one of Newham’s iconic Grade 2 listed buildings.
These tours have been made possible thanks to the generosity of the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
There are 20 spaces available per tour.
Please note:
If you book and can no longer attend please email tickets@stratfordeast.com as soon as possible, so that we can offer the slot to someone else.
There are many stairs and a lot of walking so please let us know any needs in terms of access.
