The Trial of Josie K

The Trial of Josie K

We are thrilled that as part of Newham Council’s Enrichment Programme, in partnership with the Youth Empowerment Service, we can offer FREE tickets to year 5 or 6 students for the Unicorn Theatre’s production of THE TRIAL OF JOSIE K, which will be performed at Stratford Youth Zone from Wed 22 Feb – Fri 10 Mar 2023.

There will be a relaxed performance on Fri 10 Mar at 10.30am for children with SEND. Each school is entitled to book free tickets for one year group, either year 5 or year 6. Click here for a full list of available performances.

The play includes themes of loss and guilt, which exist in a brilliantly surreal and absurd theatrical world. We will provide a classroom pack with activities to explore after you’ve been to the theatre.

Additionally, to ensure you and your pupils have the best possible experience we recommend all schools book a Pre-Visit Teacher Briefing when booking tickets. This 45-minute session is designed to help teachers explore some of the themes in the production. Please click on 'Booking Details' to see a full list of Pre-Visit Teacher Briefing dates.

To book your free tickets and sign-up for your preferred teacher briefing date, please call our Box Office on 020 8534 0310.

Josie doesn’t know what’s going on. Sometimes adults just don’t make any sense. Join Josie K as she finds herself caught up in an absurd situation, and needs her best mate Becca and all her courage to find her way out. Inspired by Kafka’s The Trial, this is a story of defiance, the power of friendship and finding hope, even in a world where no one has explained the rules.

Stratford East are offering a package of support around school visits, including a short, live Q&A with the cast at the end of each performance, a digital resource pack that can act as an invaluable pre- and post-visit teaching resource, and a free teachers’ CPD workshop.

To book your free tickets and sign-up for your preferred teacher briefing date, please call our Box Office on 020 8534 0310.
