Join Matthew Xia for this insightful workshop into understanding the relationship between a director and designer, and how you can both achieve your vision. Matthew will take you through the process of establishing a relationship with a theatre designer including design discussions, model box creation, stage and costume design.

How do we select who gets a place?
Our workshops are intended for specific disciplines and experience-levels. To ensure that everyone attending gets the most of the workshop, all entrants that meet the intended requirements are entered into a lottery and randomly selected. 

Matthew Xia (director) is the award-winning Artistic Director of ATC (Actors Touring Company). His recent credits include The Architect (ATC / GDIF) and Tambo & Bones (Stratford East / ATC). He was previously Associate Artistic Director at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester; Director-in-Residence at The Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse; and Associate Director at Theatre Royal Stratford East (where he started in the youth theatre in 1993!).
