We are delighted to announce that East London’s Kromanti Rum is Stratford East's official rum partner.
As well as being stocked at the Stratford East Bar and Island Vibez Kitchen from this week, Kromanti Rum will also be providing an in-kind donation of rum and cocktails for Stratford East’s Supporter Events over the coming year.
Founded by father and daughter team Cashain David and Danielle David, Kromanti Rum is a family-owned business that creates Caribbean rum spiced with tamarind in small batches.
The name 'Kromanti' originates from a historical enslavement fort on the coast of what is now Ghana, one of the many ancestral homelands of the African Diaspora. The Kromanti people had a unique insight to local botanicals and their benefits, integral to survival and prosperity.
Kromanti Rum places an emphasis on heritage, storytelling and building intergenerational connections to present and market its product, encouraging people to maintain the rum’s traditions. Their dedication to connecting with others through storytelling makes it a perfect match for Stratford East.
Danielle David, co-founder of Kromanti Rum, said: “We're so glad to be partnering with Stratford East. Aligned in our passion for bringing the community together, and excited to be at the creative heart of East London - where the concept for Kromanti Rum was born!”
