We are excited to announce the full cast and crew of THE WOMEN OF LLANRUMNEY in collaboration with Sherman Theatre. Award-winning writer Azuka Oforka’s acclaimed historical drama makes its London debut before returning to the stage in Cardiff following high demand and five-star rave reviews.
Directing the show is Sherman Theatre’s Associate Artist Patricia Logue with the cast comprising of Matthew Gravelle (Simon Taylor, Tommy Flynn and Mr Ainsworth), Shvorne Marks (Cerys), Suzanne Packer (Annie) and Nia Roberts (Elizabeth).
We are very pleased to welcome Shvorne Marks back to Stratford East in 2025 after her role as Sandra in 2023’s critically acclaimed production of BEAUTIFUL THING. Suzanne Packer who also joins the cast returns to Stratford East as a founding member of the BiBi Crew in (1991), the first British comedy troupe to consist entirely of Black actresses who regularly performed at Stratford East.
In September 2024, Azuka Oforka won The Stage Debut Award for Best Writer for THE WOMEN OF LLANRUMNEY and was nominated for the Alfred Fagon Award in December.
