Stratford East is turning 140 years old and we're celebrating with a huge range of shows and activities throughout the year. As part of the celebrations, we are collaborating with Sadler’s Wells East to put on a production of Romeo & Juliet, written by William Shakespeare and adapted by Kwami Owusu, co-directed by Emily Ling Williams and Malik Nashad Sharpe.
We will be forming a Community Company of 12 Adults who live in Newham to perform alongside 24 Young Performers and Young Dancers in our production of Romeo & Juliet.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a historic and vibrant community performance and perform on our iconic east London stage.
Applications for the community company are now closed.
Adult Community Programme at Stratford East
We’ll continue to run Adult Drama Workshops, events and social gatherings for residents of Newham, who are not part of the Community Company. We love welcoming old and new friends through our doors.
