So much of the discourse in new musical theatre is about audience development and marketing.
The second New Musical Development Collective Think Tank focuses on how we can improve musical theatre from the bottom-up. The discussion will focus on how the industry can focus on craft, dramaturgy, and structure. We’ll also examine how development timelines can be used to evolve work and how music and text and text can be integrated to get the best of both worlds rather than least of each.
Because if musicals are more interesting, accomplished and just plain better, then surely the funding and the audiences will come? Right?
