IAN MCKELLEN ON STAGE
With Tolkien, Shakespeare, others… and you!
A message from Ian McKellen:
I’m celebrating my 80th birthday by touring a new solo show to theatres I know well and a few that I don’t. The show starts with Gandalf and will probably end with an invitation to act with me on stage. In-between there will be anecdotes and acting. I open at my local arts centre in January and end up by August in Orkney.
Live theatre has always been thrilling to me, as an actor and in the audience. Growing up in Lancashire, I was grateful to those companies who toured beyond London and I’ve always enjoyed repaying that debt by touring up and down the country myself, with the RSC, the National Theatre, Prospect Theatre, the Actors’ Company, as well as with commercial productions.
I’ve long been a supporter of the pioneering work of Stratford East and I never miss the annual pantomime. I’m thrilled to be making my debut as part of the London Tour of my new solo show and to support Theatre Royal’s work with young people in the community. See you there, I hope!
IAN McKELLEN ON STAGE is presented by Ambassador Theatre Group
This production is only on for one night, so there a few things we would like to bring to your attention:
- To enable as many people as possible to see this one-off show, there is a maximum of four tickets per person.
- To avoid the illegal resale as tickets, customers will only be able to collect tickets from 5pm on the day of the performance (no print at home or postal tickets are available).
- When booking tickets online you cannot leave an isolated seat, so please call our friendly Box Office team on 020 8534 0310 if you need any help.
- Currently seats are on sale from Row B in the stalls backwards, and it is possible that Row A will go on sale at a later date, so please be aware that purchasing seats in Row B does not guarantee that you will be in the front row.
Nearer the time we will be holding a ballot where customers can win one of twenty pairs of free tickets. Click here to sign up to our mailing list to be the first to hear when the ballot opens.
