Black Girls Book Club presents Dope Discussions

Details

Black Girls Book Club bring DOPE DISCUSSIONS to ROUNDABOUT for a special Black History Month edition.

DOPE DISCUSSIONS forms part of a series of free events that BGBC have launched. Whether it’s Black women getting in formation and taking over the Houses of Parliament or hosting a brunch with best-selling author Angie Thomas, it’s our mission to ensure that access to our events is for the many and not the few.

The theme for the evening is Girls' Night Out. We want to see you in your most fabulous outfits. Give us Beyoncé. Give us Tracee Ellis Ross. We want to see gowns. We want to see thigh. We want to see leg. Come through in your highest heel. Gives us your very best look. Let’s show East London exactly what we mean when we say ‘The Power of Black women’.

BGBC seek to discuss what it means to be a Black British woman. The things that bring us joy. The goals we have for 2020. The women who have inspired and continue to inspire us. Things we do to aid in self-care. Our activism, businesses and projects. The music we love. Things that annoy us. The issues we refuse to take into 2020. Things we would love to change.

Join us as we unpack what makes Black women the glorious beings we have come to be.

This event is open to all who wish to attend. BGBC’s mission is to create a space for Black women to come together positively.

Funded by Newham Council as part of their Black History Month programme.
